Tucson Tango Festival Features a Guerilla Milonga

The Tucson Tango Festival will offer five days of nonstop tango bliss. At the least there will be a guerilla milonga, where you can board a commercial bus with other tangueros to bring tango to the community. Sounds like a tango flash mob. The festival will be held March 2-7 and will feature a music jam by well-known teacher Homer Ladas. I personally experienced one of his music jams this past Sunday at a Stanford University workshop and adored the aliveness of the experience. So get down there next week.

But is there tango? What's the point of going on a beach vacation if there's no tango? Or hiking? Or to the pyramids? True tanguero(a)s seek a fix of tango when they have time to enjoy a vacation, and our blog is your source for upcoming tango festivals, vacations, and travel tips. If you have workshops, festivals, or a tango camp to share, please mail them to margotbignon AT gmail.com

We'll be sharing them here.
